Compounding Pharmacy
Our Compounding Pharmacist Team are specially trained and certified in compounding medications. They are all wonderful to work with and provide exceptional quality of compounded medications conveniently shipped directly to your home.
What is Compounding?
Compounding is the preparation of a customized medication to solve a problem or to meet a specific patient need. Compounding pharmacists work together with providers and their patients to decide on the most effective therapy for each individual. Today, an estimated 1% of all prescriptions are compounded daily by pharmacists working closely with medical providers and their patients.
Are Compounded Medications Expensive?
Compounded medications may cost a little more than traditional prescription drugs because they take time to prepare and each prescription must be individually made. Patients with health insurance plans usually need to pay for compounded drugs out-of-pocket because compounded medications do not have standard Drug Code Reference Numbers. However, some plans provide some reimbursement after submission of a claims form. Patients need to check with their insurance company to determine their actual level of coverage.
How can Compounding Pharmacy help?
The Compounding Pharmacies have the specialized equipment and bulk chemicals required for prescription compounding. The pharmacists have received extensive training in modern compounding techniques and regularly attend continuing education seminars. The Pharmacy works with patients to provide effective and affordable solutions to patients in need.
Examples of compounded medications are not limited to bio-identical hormones; we work collaboratively with Compounding Pharmacies to create medications specifically designed for each persons need. We can formulate medications to aid in scar healing, anti-inflammatory, sleep aids, and youthful skin creams. They are great for anyone with gut-absorption issues. The list goes on and on.
